Our client is a Construction Consultancy with offices in Northampton and Birmingham, that has an excellent reputation in the industry for providing Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Employer’s Agent services to Private Industrial and Commercial sector clients. Employing staff from both the Client and Contracting side of the industry, our client is well placed to ensure they provide holistic design and build expertise in every project. Employing 22 staff currently, this company celebrated it’s 25th Anniversary last year and, needless to say, marked the occasion with numerous events and social activities with staff and clients alike. The company places positive emphasis on team building throughout the year, encouraging regular nights out together, and also hosting family BBQs in the summer months. A number of the team have set up a cycling group and the company has had new shower facilities installed to facilitate. About the role:

Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced / Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and advise on contracts, warranties, professional appointments and all other legal aspects of their new build projects in the Industrial, Commercial and Education sectors.

As Quantity Surveyor, the ideal candidate will be responsible for cost estimating, managing the tender process, valuations, regular reporting to key Clients and facilitating cost control from inception through to completion, including pre-construction and post-construction phases. Working closely with the Project Management team the position will encompass the management of matters concerning planning, design, procurement, construction and completion of contract, interfacing directly with the owning or developing Client.

About the requirements:

The ideal candidate will have 5+ year’s experience working as a Quantity Surveyor primarily in a PQS / Consulting environment. You will be self-motivated and pro-active with excellent written and oral communication skills and a good understanding of procurement methods. Ideally you will be experienced in managing a team of Quantity Surveyors within the Industrial, Retail, Education and / or Healthcare sectors.
