About the company

My client is a privately owned specialist contractor who specialises within the highways, roads, groundworks, and civil engineering sector. The types of clients they work with are predominantly local authorities but they also do works with private clients also. In terms of projects, they can involve anything highways related ranging from kerbs, drainage, maintenance, surfacing, street lighting, and winter maintenance. The contracts/projects can range from anything ranging from £500,000 – £15m. Because of their hard work and quality, this has opened up an opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their dedicated and skillful commercial team.

About the opportunity

This is a superb, diverse, and exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor on highways, roads, groundworks, and civil engineering projects. You will be working on a diverse portfolio of works, dealing with a mixture of public and private clients, and managing several different projects that will all be at different fazes at different times. The projects you work on will be predominantly NEC but you will also get exposure to JCT and ICC contracts, projects will range in value from £200,000 – £1.7M. You will be working underneath a great commercial director who puts the development of his team before anything, it’s a great opportunity for progression and development.

About the requirements

It’s not essential but it would be preferred for candidates to be degree qualified in Commercial Management and Quantity Surveying. I will be looking for candidates with strong stability on their CV’s working for UK based contractors that specialise in either, highways, roads, or groundworks. Ideally, I am looking for someone who has experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor but I would also consider Quantity Surveyors who feel they’re ready to move into a Senior position.
