My client is currently turning over £70M per annum and has been providing civil engineering and highway services throughout London for over 40 years, which shows that they have built up great credibility and reputation. They offer several specialist services from professional design and consultancy, utility infrastructure, highway safety inspections to highway services and term maintenance contracts, winter maintenance, and sign manufacture. Over the years, my client has built up a well-respected reputation and has grown to become a trusted partner for multiple Local Authorities and Councils in the London area.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be involved in highway maintenance and highway infrastructure, reporting directly to the Commercial Director. Some of the types of work you’ll be involved in are drainage and service ducts, site clearance, fencing, kerbing, and landscaping. Some of your duties will involve managing a small commercial team involving Quantity Surveyors, Assistants, Juniors & graduates, you will need to supervise, mentor, and encourage all junior staff in their personal and professional development.

Requirements:

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to a Foundation Degree level (HND or HNC) in Construction, Civils, Commercial Management, or Quantity Surveying (or hold an equivalent qualification). Stability is a necessity, with at least 5 years of experience working for a UK-based Civil Engineering Contractor. You are not required to have Senior Quantity Surveying experience; however, you will need to be able to manage multiple projects at the same time as well as a team who will be reporting directly to you.
