About the company

My client is a rail & Civil Engineering contractor who has seen brilliant growth in the last couple of years and wants to see this continue, they have built up a brilliant nationwide reputation. Currently operating at a turnover of £50M they have built a great client base dealing directly with the likes of Network Rail, London Underground, and TFL. They’re multi-disciplined and cover several sectors within rail such as P-way, OLE, reactive works, rail electrification, communications, and infrastructure. The projects they get involved in can vary in price from £10,000 – £25M.

About the opportunity

This is a superb, diverse, and exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor on rail, groundworks, infrastructure, and civil engineering projects. It sounds like a nice spread of sectors doesn’t it? Despite working within a mixture of sectors you will predominately be working on NEC contracts and these projects can range in value from £500,000 – £6M.  The company environment and ethos are important, isn’t it? My client isn’t a corporate organisation, they are a hardworking firm with extremely high, morale and a nice, fun working environment. The role will involve working closely with the operational team, dealing with change control, dealing with main contractors, and managing the supply chain.

About the requirements

My client is looking for someone who has at least 6 years of experience working as a Quantity Surveyor and somebody who is capable of managing projects commercially by themselves. I will be looking for strong stability on the CV, working for UK-based Civil Engineering and rail contractors. With regards to personality, I am looking for someone who is confident and has great communication skills.
