ABOUT THE COMPANY
My client are a well respected and successful tier two civil engineering contractor. They work with tier one clients such as Volkerstevin and Balfour Beatty and specialise in marine based works. They have self delivery model and currently turnover £27M with plans to continue growing over the coming years. Sometimes they will operate as a principal contractor but they mostly act as a sub contractor for companies who use their marine civil engineering experience to work on projects covering marine construction, civil construction, piling, marine plant hire, harbours and marinas, flood defence work, inland waterways and emergency repairs.
They have been working since 1991 and have built up an excellent reputation for delivering on projects ranging in size from £50,000 up to £6M.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Due to winning further work my client are looking to add a project Quantity Surveyor/ Senior Quantity Surveyor to the team. You will be working on a variety of projects ranging in value from £50,000 up to £6M. The types of projects you will be involved in will include, new jetties, new piers, piling, coastal defence works, bridge protection. All of these projects are in a water environment and you will be reporting into the head of commercial who has been with the business for the past 8 years and started there as a Senior Quantity Surveyor before working his way up to this position. There is also lots of room for growth within the commercial team as the company continues to grow and win more work. This role will be based out of the head office in Dawlish and will include an element of hybrid working. You will need to have experience running your own jobs up to £6m and you will be comfortable taking the lead on these projects and having others reporting into you.
REQUIREMENTS
To be considered for this role you will need to have experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within a Civil Engineering company, ideally a sub contractor. You will need to have at least 3 years experience of working in the UK and I am looking for someone who has been with their current company for at least 3 years. You will be degree qualified and have strong leadership skills with excellent communication.
REWARDS AND BENEFITS
You will be joining a small team where everyone has a close relationship and they have created a fun and enjoyable working environment where you will have direct access to the directors of the company and your voice will be heard and your input will be appreciated and acted upon.
You will be rewarded with a salary of between £50,000 and £70,000 depending on experience.
There will also be a package that will include a car or a car allowance, a matched pension at 10%, healthcare, there is also a couple of bonus schemes including a Christmas bonus and another end of year bonus depending on performance.
