Based in Surrey, our client is a UK leading name within the demolition and civil engineering sector and has an annual group turnover in excess of £100M. As a business, they specialise in various sectors including rail, environmental services, demolition, and remediation and decommissioning and undertake high profile, technical projects throughout the country with a large presence in / around London.

About the opportunity:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for a degree qualified Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Manager in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. You will be involved from tender stage through to project completion and projects will cover a diverse range of enabling works and remediation schemes, throughout London and the surrounding areas, working under various forms of contract such as JCT and NEC.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, carrying out comparison of tenders, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

About the benefits and rewards:

For this permanent position, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful professionals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £60,000 – £75,000. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, professionals will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar. Additionally, professionals must have a minimum of 7 years post graduate experience and this must have been gained whilst working within the civil engineering, groundworks or enabling works sectors, whilst working for a specialist subcontractor.

Please note, remediation experience is preferable however not essential. Professionals with experience in groundworks, utilities, hard landscaping and / or infrastructure will also be of high interest.
