Senior Procurement Manager – Chingford

The Company:

My client specialise in refurbishment, restoration and new build projects within a value range between £250k and £7m for both the public and private clients under Traditional and Design & Build contracts within Commercial and Industrial, Education. Social and Private Housing and Communal sectors. They aim to achieve 100% compliance and best quality on every project which is reflected in the high percentage of repeat business we achieve

The role and responsibilities will extend to the following:

Liaising with Project Managers/Site Managers and Commercial Surveyors to ensure supplies and materials are delivered to multiple sites in a timely manner;

Assisting with all procurement tasks including sourcing and developing suppliers as well as contracts management throughout the term.

Coordinating the allocation of plant delivery and maintaining appropriate documentation;

Efficiently managing key supplier accounts in order to maximise company profitability and improve payment terms;

Planning and scheduling delivery timetables and organising itineraries;

Developing improved purchasing processes and procedures.

The Candidate:

A strong candidate will have the following key skills:

Be able to efficiently prioritise deliverables whilst working to strict deadlines under pressure and possess proven analytical, planning, problem-solving, and decision-making skills;

Be personable and approachable character who brings a positive dynamic to the working environment regardless ;

A strong business/commercial acumen, with an excellent knowledge of construction business models and contracting approaches or techniques necessary to achieve best in class deals;

Excellent written and verbal skills with the ability to communicate and present data in a clear and concise manner to both internal & external stakeholders across senior levels;

A willingness to foster an ethos of constant improvement across the supply chain function by acting as a role model around quality and process standards in procurement activity.

Excellent IT skills including Excel and Word.

An ability to undertake basic analytical estimating including comparison of supply chain quotations.
