About the company

My client is a mid-sized, self-delivering Civil Engineering contractor who turns over £100M per annum. They are multi-disciplined Civil Engineering contractors specialising in water, power, telecoms, fibre optic, rail & multi utilities. Due to their diverse skill set, they have worked on and had great exposure to contracts such as City Fibre, Thames Water & UKPN. They pride themselves on the standard of work they produce, their kind, family feel the atmosphere and long-term stability of all their staff.

About the role

The company is looking for a Senior Estimator to join their Estimating team in Watford. They are looking for somebody interested in a long-term opportunity and willing to progress their career. Ideally, they are looking for somebody to Managing tenders from inception to submission, lead and manage Post tender negotiations as well as monitoring the stages of a project to ensure that costs are kept in line with forecasts. You will be responsible for tenders valued between £1M – £10M. It’s vital that you’re somebody who strives for continuous improvement within the estimating process and your area of responsibility. The types of works you will be working on will involve multi utility installations as well as power projects.  

No freelances will be considered.

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction, Civils, Business of equivalent qualification.

It is important to have experience working within civil engineering as a Senior Estimator and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for, ideally 3 years per company that you have worked for.

I’m open to someone who has worked for a utility contractor or civil engineering contractor, as long as they are UK-based.

You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
