About the company:

Our client is a multi-disciplined, reputable sub-contractor who currently turnover £100m per annum. As a business, they specialise primarily within the water (wastewater and clean water) and infrastructure/non-infrastructure areas of civil engineering, with offices in North London, Kent, and on the South Coast. The company has some of the best employees in the industry working for them, they are very well respected across the utility industry and are currently in a period of steady growth.

Whilst the business is looking to expand, they are also keen to maintain their family feel atmosphere, offering an enjoyable working environment and everyone is treated as a name, not a number, with the respect from the directors across the company.

They are a relationship-based contractor and pride themselves on the quality of the work that they produce. This has led them to have repeat business with Thames Water, holding certain frameworks for over 30 years. On top of this, they have long-standing relationships with Affinity Water, Southern Water, and South East Water and have recently started working with Anglian Water.

About the opportunity:

Due to ongoing growth and company expansion, my client is recruiting for a Senior Environmental & Sustainability Advisor to join the SHEQ team and report directly into the Head of SHEQ.

There are some brilliant long-term opportunities available with this position – the ability to progress into an Environmental Manager, then into a Head of Environmental position, offering you fantastic growth and progression. Your day-to-day duties will involve taking a strategic lead in the sustainability strategy for the business, ensuring environmental requirements are met with the adoption and sharing of best practices and lessons learned across the business / industry in addition to delivering environmental and sustainability training to all levels within the project team. This isn’t just a role; this is a career for someone who is looking to develop professionally and have the ability to make a real difference within a business and the wider environment.

My client is offering flexible working & working from home and whilst salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on experience and suitability, professionals can look to target a salary anywhere between £55,000 – £60,000 + benefits

Requirements:

In order to be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must have experience working in the Construction or Civil Engineering industry in an Environmental or Sustainability Advisor position. On top of this, you need to have a degree in an Environmental discipline and/or IEMA associate. I am looking for someone passionate about making a difference.
