About the company

My client is a tier one main contractor who work worldwide, they are a leading name within infrastructure, utilities and rail turning over £1B. Despite being a Tier One worldwide contractor, they are also a family run company and still have that family feel to them. They specialise within rail, water, gas, power, highways and construction. Due to their high profile within Civil Engineering and their high standard of work this has led to a very healthy pipe line of work for 2021. Some of the contracts they are working on are HS2, Thames Water and CP6. As well as these contracts they also have several smaller and private civil engineering projects across London and Birmingham.

About the role

Due to the company continuing to grow and winning a huge chunk of work on Severn Trent Water (AMP7) they are now looking for a senior engineer to join their team. The successful candidate with need to have the ability to produce, manage and drive Quality on each project as well as the ability and confidence to raise, discuss and resolve engineering issues on site, and with design engineers. The projects that you will be involved in will be Severn Trent works but infrastructure-based projects, tunnelling and pipe jacking. This opportunity has superb potential to help the correct professional to improve as an engineer and enhance their long-term career.

The successful candidate will oversee looking after a team of site engineers, ranging from 4-7 and it is important to note this opportunity has great potential to help people progress into a sub agent then in the future a project manager.

  • Civil Engineering Qualification – Degree level or equivalent.
  • Setting out experience.
  • Background working on highways and heavy civil engineering infrastructure projects, covering utilities, deep drainage or water works.
  • Ideally, I will need someone with 5 + years’ experience working for one tier 1 or tier 2 company within Civil Engineering or Utilities (UK based).
