They have been operating for 60 years and have an excellent reputation in the industry. Their services include asbestos removal, temporary works, demolition, remediation, earthworks, and concrete works. As they are a specialist demolition contractor they have a mixture of repeat business and constantly engaging with new clients to work on a widespread of projects. The yearly turnover of our client is approximately £110M. This has been achieved through being market leaders; their use of new technology and from completing project budgets within set time parameters.

About the opportunity:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is a need for a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Director in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders. This position will enhance your career with award-winning training and development. You will be working and learning from the senior team who have a vast range of professional qualifications including health and safety; demolition and dismantling, etc. As the business evolves and moves forward it’s important that you move forward with them. Our client’s scheme to ensure that every employee is up to date with all relevant training means you will always be working to the highest standard.

If successful, you will also have the opportunity to be a part of projects which go outside of demolition including temporary works and concrete works. This gives you a great opportunity to step outside of the demolition specialism and expand your experience. What this opportunity offers you is a chance to be a part of a project through various different stages, resulting in a broader knowledge base that you can apply to your daily responsibilities.

This opportunity will allow you to make an impact on the company by bringing your previous and fresh ideas to the ‘table’. You will be able to work on some market-leading projects as a Quantity Surveyor leading a small close-knit team.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximizing the project margin. You will ensure the delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. You will be involved from tender stage through to project completion. It is also essential you have experience of pricing variations; assessment of subcontractor’s works and subcontractor tenders.

For this permanent position, I am targeting individuals looking to earn anywhere from £50,000 – £60,000 per annum, however, there may be flexibility on this as the specific salary will depend on previous experience and suitability. About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, professionals will need to be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or similar. Additionally, you must have proven the experience of working at this level whilst employed by a civil engineering contractor in the UK
