About the company

My client is a tier one main contractor who work worldwide, they are a leading name within infrastructure, utilities and rail turning over £1B. The company are 5 years into their 10-year growth plan, they are looking to turnover £2B by 2025, it is extremely exciting times for the company. They specialise within rail, water, gas, power, highways, and construction. Due to their high profile and high standard of work they are working on contracts such as HS2, CP6 and Thames Water (AMP7).

About the opportunity

Due to the company expanding and continuing to win work they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their water division and work on AMP7 Water infrastructure works. You will be responsible for managing costs with the goal of making as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you will be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships. The successful individual will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

The successful candidate will be rewarded with a salary ranging from £38,000 – £50,000 depending on experience, you will also get a competitive car allowance.


You will be required to have a good standard of education preferably to a Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC) in a Construction , Civils, commercial management or quantity surveying related degree

It is important to have experience working for a Civil Engineering contractor based in the UK for a tier 1 company as a quantity surveyor and to show good stability at the companies you have worked for (2/3 years at least per company)

You will also need a full UK driver’s license to allow to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require visiting.
