About the Company:

Established over 20 years ago and part of a larger group, this business is still developing and growing. They operate in a variety of markets completing everything from specialist one off residential builds to larger industrial projects and commercial office construction. Project values to date have ranged from £2m up to £15m and with sister companies handling a variety of the subcontract packages, this business has a real strength behind what it does.

On a personal note I have known the MD of this business for over 10 years and would recommend him to anyone, not only as a fair and strong leader, but as an excellent mentor and coach. Over the years I have watched him develop people’s careers in the right way, offering reward and progression with real substance of knowledge gained at each step.

This position has come about due to organic growth and offers not only an excellent opportunity to get involved in a real variety of projects, but also the ability to work under a commercially trained MD that is looking for the senior managers for the future. The team that is constantly being developed right now with in this decision will have options to progress as the business continues to grow.

About the Role:

I am looking for a Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor with a background in a variety of build packages. We can consider people from a commercial, residential, industrial or specialist subcontract background, if some diversity of work can be shown and a real drive to play an important part in a growing team is present.

The crucial thing is that you are degree qualified in quantity surveying and that you have worked for a build contractor before with stability in your employment.

This role will involve the usual surveying / commercial management duties (i.e. taking projects from start to final account making sure budgets are maintained and profit levels are maximised while reporting any necessary changes).

If successful you will report to the company’s director and will be responsible for either one large project or a group of projects (usually around 3 to 5 at any one time) in or around the Herts, Beds, Bucks and North West London area.

About the Requirements:

The requirements for this role are fairly straight forward;

We can only consider individuals who have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor for either a build main contractor or a relevant subcontractor on build projects. Our client needs someone who is capable of standing on their own two feet and understands the role they need to carry out.

And due to the technical nature of this role, it is also crucial that all applicants are degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management.

About the Salary / Rewards:

For the right person our client is looking to offer a market leading package including a strong salary or rate with added benefits.

If PAYE paid you can expect a basic salary ranging from £50,000 to £80,000 depending on your experience, plus a car allowance, full benefits and a targeted project related bonus.

If self-employed, day rates range from £250 to £350 per day and you will be covered for travel costs and you will also be given project related bonuses.

How to Apply:

I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner. This is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.

Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
