About the company:

My client is well-established privately owned residential developer who have a long history spanning over 80 years. They extremely well set-up with solid financial backing and are currently ranked as one of the most profitable developers in the country. The trade solely from their Hertfordshire base overseeing developments of private and affordable housing across the Southern region in Essex, Kent, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire and Buckinghamshire. They are currently constructing around 600 units per year and half seen this increase year on year. In addition to their UK based worked they have also produced various developments in Ireland and the Czech Republic. This is certainly a very exciting and efficient business to be involved with a mix of young, driven professionals and more experienced seniors who have been with the business for 15+ years.

About the opportunity:

My client is now seeking an experienced Assistant to Intermediate level Quantity Surveyor to join one of the two Regional Commercial teams. The role will involve a significant amount of travel to and from sites and the office with current projects in Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. The role will allow you to take on a significant amount of responsibility early on and will give you the chance to be progressed on quickly through the team.

You will be working alongside a Managing Surveyor who has been with the company for circa 10 years. They have been promoted from within the commercial team several times leading to their current role heading up a team of 3. This is proof that promotion and personal success can be achieved through hard work and loyalty to the business.

About the benefits and rewards:

The base package is up to £55,000 (depending on experience) and a car allowance as well as contributory pension scheme and healthcare.

About the requirements:

You will be running approximately 4 sites, carrying out the full QS role – cost reporting, procurement, checking and collecting white cards, negotiation of VO’s and final accounts of all trades.

You must have house building experience with a degree qualification, able to drive and a car owner.
