Our client is a well-respected construction and development company, which has been in the industry for nearly 100 years. Their Head Office is located in Essex but projects typically take place in Central London and the Home Counties. Schemes range from £500k to £15 million, across the Health, Education, Public and Community, housing (private and social), historical and Arts and Leisure sectors.

Staff development is important to the business, running its own academy for entry level staff, as well as supporting current staff in qualifications and further training. The business is also very active in the local community, engaging with schools, colleges and universities to inspire the next generation of construction professionals.

About the opportunity

Our client is currently looking for a progressive Quantity Surveyor that has knowledge of the new build and refurbishment processes within the main contract building environment, typically covering education, healthcare, commercial, retail, leisure, residential and specialist projects. The individual will be expected to take projects from pre-award tender process through to completion. You will be expected to undertake typical QS duties under the traditional & D&B JCT Contract types.

About the benefits/rewards:

Salary will be in the region of £55,000 – £75,000 plus healthcare and pension scheme. Salaries are based on the individual’s level of experience and skill.

About the requirements:

The ideal individual will have a main contracting background and have previous experience within the London market on JCT contracts. A valid driving licence and a Quantity Surveying/Commercial Management related degree is essential. In terms of personality traits, you must have excellent attention to detail and negotiation skills. Furthermore, you will be an excellent communicator with impressive numeracy skills.
