About the company:

Our client is a Construction Consultancy based in Birmingham and Northamptonshire that has an excellent reputation in the industry for providing Quantity Surveying, Project Management and Employer’s Agent services to Private Industrial and Commercial sector clients.  Employing staff from both the Client and Contracting side of the industry, our client is well placed to ensure they provide holistic design and build expertise in every project. Employing 24 staff currently, this company celebrated its 25th Anniversary last year and, needless to say, marked the occasion with numerous events and social activities with staff and clients alike. The company places positive emphasis on team building throughout the year, encouraging regular nights out together, and also hosting family BBQs in the summer months. A number of the team have set up a cycling group and the company has had new shower facilities installed to facilitate. The office space is open-plan with a kitchen area and breakout area, and also provides parking facilities.

About the opportunity:

Our client is seeking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team and advise on contracts, warranties, professional appointments and all other legal aspects of their new build projects in the Industrial, Commercial and Education sectors, with support from an Associate and wider commercial team.

Reporting into an Associate, you will be responsible for cost estimating, managing the tender process, valuations, regular reporting to our Clients and facilitating cost control from inception through to completion for the projects you are working on.

About the requirements:

The ideal professional will have 4+ years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor (client side) with a RICS or CIOB accredited degree. You will be self-motivated and pro-active with excellent written and oral communication skills and a good understanding of procurement methods. Ideally you will be experienced in managing a team of Quantity Surveyors within the Industrial, Retail, Education and / or Healthcare sectors.
