About the company

My client is a specialist sub-contractor who specialises in highway maintenance, hard landscaping, road infrastructure, and the civil engineering sector. The types of clients they work with are predominantly local authorities but they do work with private clients also. In terms of projects, they can involve anything highways-related ranging from kerbs, drainage, surfacing, street lighting, and winter maintenance. The contracts/projects can range from anything ranging from £500,000 – £15m. The contractor is one of the most well respected in London and turnover £90M per annum, on top of this they also have financial support from a large, multinational organisation.

About the opportunity

This is a superb, diverse, and exciting opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor to join a growing contractor on highways, paving, landscaping, groundworks, and civil engineering projects. It sounds like a nice spread of sectors doesn’t it? Despite working within a mixture of sectors you will predominately be working on NEC contracts as well as occasionally working on JCT contracts. As well as having ongoing, continuous and thorough support from the Commercial Director and Managing Quantity Surveyor this could be your opportunity to be a Commercial lead on a long-term framework.

About the requirements

I am looking for someone who has got 5 years of experience working within the Civil Engineering industry (highways exposure is also important for this position). On top of experience, I am looking for someone with good job stability (2 years per company at least). With regards to education, I am looking for someone who is degree qualified, a Quantity Surveying related degree is preferred.

We all love lots of money but we both know it’s not just about the money is it? My client pride themselves on personal development and they want the successful individual to follow them on their journey of growth which will lead to promotions.
