Are you a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator with a strong background working on roads/groundworks projects? Are you interested in being able to make a real difference at work?

About the company

My client is a family-run civil engineering contractor currently operating at a turnover of £100M per annum. They’re a recession-proof organisation that is diverse and work in several different sectors such as surfacing, groundworks/infrastructure, water, gas, fibre optic, recycling, drylining, and plant/transport. They invest heavily into their staff, they do this by having a management consultant that comes in once a week to train and mentor their staff, they do this because they want to have the best staff in the industry and they want their staff to be looked after correctly.

About the role

Due to company expansion, they are now looking for a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their civil engineering/infrastructure team. The types of projects you will be working on will be Section 278 works, groundworks, kerbing, drainage, paving as well as hard landscaping. You will be working on a portfolio of £15/20M per annum. Your roles and responsibility will involve dealing with all Pre-Qualification enquiries from various sources, databases, advertisements, and referrals. On top of this, you will need to attend site surveys and Negotiate costs. You will need to be able to produce Bills of Quantities for both groundworks and Section 278 works including material take-offs and cost analysis.

Benefits and rewards

You will be rewarded with a brilliant salary ranging between £60,000 – £75,000 + a package on top. On top of a great salary, you’ll be treated as a name, not a number and this is a great chance to join a business with no glass ceiling, help a business grow, and make a real positive impact.

Requirements

I am looking for someone who can hit the ground running, so you will need to have a great understanding of roads, infrastructure, and groundworks projects. I need someone who has worked in these industries as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator. I am looking for someone who can work in a team but is also happy to work by themselves, someone who is happy to get involved in different things, and someone who can make a real difference.
