About the company

My client is the biggest utility contractor within the UK turning over £850M, specialising in gas, water, electric, fibre and power. They are a tier one main contractor but they also sub contract utility packages on large contracts. The opportunities to grow within the company are huge, they are always expanding and they like to promote within and reward their staff. You will be working in their offices in North London, they are very high end and polished and it makes it a great environment to work in. The reputation of my client is brilliant, they are known for completing work on time and to a great standard, because of this they have landed some big contracts with HS2, Thames Water, Anglian Water, UKPN and Southern Water.

About the role

The successful candidate will be involved in negotiation of withheld costs with client representatives and monitoring sub contract payments, forecast spend as well as risk and opportunity schedules.

On top of that you will be working for a team with years full of experience within the utility sector. It makes it a great team to learn from and a team that will really help you develop, the company have a great reputation for delivering projects to a high standard, so you can be sure to be gaining experience in the right way. The role itself gives you a great opportunity to grow and progress throughout the company whilst it allows you to take good responsibility with the work that you’re producing (i.e. you won’t be micro managed).

The successful candidate will be rewarding with a very competitive salary ranging from £38,000 – £45,000, on top of this you will be given a company car/competitive car allowance. About the requirements

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably a BSc in quantity surveying and commercial management.

As well as being well educated it’s vital you have good stability on your CV working for a tier one or tier two contractor within utilities or Civil Engineering.

The role is a permanent position. No freelancers can be considered.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
