About the company

My client is a small sub-contractor turning over £10M. They are an extremely well run contractor who specialise predominantly in extra high voltage works, cable pulling & installation, civils works and they also work within the rail sector and renewables. Since becoming established in 2005 they have built up a strong client base with some well know contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Clancy Docwra and Amey.

About the role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs on one major project, ensuring it is profitable for the Company. The projects that you will be involved in will be working on NEC contracts on underground cabling, groundwork’s, concrete structures, deep drainage and steel works. The successful individual will be involved in viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and preparing valuations with Project Managers and the Commercial Manager.

About the requirements:

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company. Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
