Are you bored of commuting into London every day?

About the company

My client is part of an established, privately owned group, turning over £155M, and has been trading for 30 + years. They are financially stable and own 3 offices in London and own all of their plant. The part of the group I am recruiting for has been trading for 10 years and is currently turning over £20M. They specialise in Civil Engineering & Infrastructure and subcontract for well-established contractors such as Balfour Beatty, Hochtief, and Morgan Sindall, they also work as a principal contractor for the AWE. They strive for continued growth and quality; they look to grow up to a £50M contractor over the next 5 years. They have a brilliant and experienced management team in place, a management team who have all been with the company for 10+ years. The types of works they cover involve RC structures, earthworks, groundworks, paving, demolition, landscaping, and drainage. The projects they work on range in value from £2M – to £15M.

About the opportunity

Due to the company continuing to win work, there is a need for a Project Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Director, within the infrastructure sector of the company.

You will be responsible for managing costs to make as much profit as possible for the company on the projects you will be working on and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing client relationships. You will be managing multiple sub-contractors on multiple different packages; as well as dealing with the main contractor daily, the projects will be on average around £5M/£6M. The types of works you will be working on will be groundworks, kerbing, concrete works, drainage packages, and piling. My client has traditionally done a lot of their work inside London, they are now expanding and have developed a large pipeline of work in Reading/Berkshire and they’re looking to build a team in this area, around the successful candidate. This adds some really strong long-term progression and development to the opportunity and the chance to build your team.

Benefits & Rewards

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone looking for progression & development, as previously mentioned, my client’s long-term plans are to build a commercial team around this successful candidate. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary ranging between £50,000 – £70,000 + package. On top of this, my client is a well-established & well-respected specialist sub-contractor, this means you’ll be joining a financially stable contractor that can offer you long-term stability.

About the requirements

It is essential you have experience working for a tier 2 civil engineering contractor, whilst holding strong stability on your CV. On top of this, I need someone who is capable of managing a full cycle of a project from pre-construction through to completion, with limited support. It is also essential your degree is qualified in Quantity Surveying & Commercial Management.
