About the opportunity:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to support the Directors in the successful commercial and financial management of projects and tenders with values up to £10M. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, you will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Directors.

About the requirements:

To be considered for this opportunity, you must have:

  • A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience as a Quantity Surveyor, gained whilst working for an enabling works contractor in the UK (however general civil engineering experience will also be of high interest).
  • A degree in Quantity surveying, commercial manager on similar.
  • Working knowledge of all forms of contract – JCT and NEC forms of contract, plus bespoke forms of agreement on occasions.

About the benefits and rewards:

For professionals at the right level of experience, our client is offering a strong basic salary of £45,000 to £60,000 per annum (depending on how much experience gained), plus the usual company benefits associated with a large, successful organisation.
