About the opportunity:

Due to company expansion, our client is recruiting permanently for a Quantity Surveyor to join their infrastructure division within the highways sector. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will join the highways commercial team to deliver projects on a number of Frameworks with National Highways and Local Authorities. Projects will range in value from £200K to £1.5M and these will involve drainage, surfacing, and boundary fence replacement.

General duties will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Producing tender documents and quotations for new projects
  • Negotiating target cost and fixed price quotations with clients
  • Subcontract procurement from initial enquiry to negotiation and placement of order, and subsequent management of subcontract packages
  • Commercial management of subcontractor accounts from commencement to negotiation and agreement of final accounts
  • Preparation of monthly applications for payment to the client and ensuring timely certification and payment
  • Preparation of monthly cost value reconciliation (CVR) reports
  • Preparation of monthly cost and value to complete forecasts in conjunction with project teams
  • Undertaking contractual notifications, early warnings, pricing compensation events / variations and the like
  • Preparation of final accounts
  • Risk management
  • Development of supply chain relationships with suppliers and sub-contractors

About the benefits and rewards:

For this permanent opportunity, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful professionals can expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £40,000 – £50,000. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be degree qualified in a related discipline (Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management) and hold experience of working in the infrastructure highways sector which should have been gained whilst working for a Tier 1 contractor in the UK. Furthermore you must have experience of working on NEC forms of contract and possess experience of working on a framework or in a collaborative environment.
