About the opportunity:

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is need for a degree qualified Quantity Surveyor to support the Commercial Manager in the successful commercial and financial management of heavy civil engineering projects and tenders. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing costs with an end goal of maximising the project margin and ensuring delivery of payment whilst developing future client relationships. You will be involved from tender stage through to project completion and projects will cover a diverse range of heavy civil engineering and remediation schemes, throughout London and the surrounding areas, working under various forms of contract such as JCT and NEC.

Key responsibilities will include assisting with the setting up of sub-contract packages, carrying out comparison of tenders, placing contract orders and meeting sub – contractors on site. Furthermore, the successful individual will manage sub – contractor accounts after works commence; (viewing and evaluating payments including site measurements as necessary) and will undertake general surveying of projects as required including reviewing and pricing of variations and the preparation of valuations in conjunction with Project Managers and the Commercial Director.

About the requirements:

In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or similar. Additionally, professionals must have a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience and this must have been gained whilst working within the brownfield remediation / earthworks industry.

About the package / benefits:

For this permanent opportunity, the salary has been left negotiable as the specifics will depend on previous experience and suitability however successful professionals could expect to target a basic salary anywhere from £50,000 – £65,000. Furthermore, there will be a generous package on offer in addition to the usual benefits associated with a large successful company.
