My client is a tier two, family-owned contractor turning over £100m per annum, with 350 employees on the books that provide civil engineering services to almost two-thirds of the country. Projects are covered in Suffolk, Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Kent, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire, and is one of the largest family-owned Civil Engineering companies in the UK. For over 50 years, core operations have included projects on highway and bridge construction, providing a range of infrastructure improvement services for the railway network, as well as river and marine services. About the role:

The successful candidate will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager and developing relationships with clients, analysing weekly and monthly cost and revenue data as well as producing a ‘Schedule of Rates’, and managing sub-contractors. The types of projects you’ll get involved in will be S278 works, rivers and canals, pavements and roads, and large infrastructure. The size of the projects you’ll be working on will range from £10,000 to £30M. some of the clients you’ll be dealing with can range from environmental agencies, local authorities, and large residential developers. You will need to be driven and self-motivated with a good work ethic as well as a team player.

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to a Foundation Degree level (HND or HNC) in Construction, Civils, Commercial Management, or Quantity Surveying (or hold an equivalent qualification). Stability is a necessity, with at least 3-4 years of experience working under a UK-based Civil Engineering Contractor. A UK driver’s license is essential as you will be traveling to various sites throughout the week.
