My client is an established construction and refurbishment contractor with a focus on building long term relationships with our clients, suppliers and staff. They are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor for our Projects division based there of Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire to join our growing team.

JOB PURPOSE

To site manage commercial delivery of contracts from commencement through to the successful completion.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Building and Maintaining strong working relationships with Sub-Contractors, Suppliers and Consultants
  • Create and sustain strong internal and external relationships
  • Identify risk/opportunity and report this to your Senior Commercial Manager
  • Adhere to procedures and manage in accordance with Company Policy
  • Assist with the development of Assistant Commercial Managers and Trainee Commercial managers.
  • Suggest methods of achieving the best financial results for a project and agree with your senior surveyor or Managing Surveyor as applicable
  • Prepare and agree Valuation Schedule in accordance with the Main Contract & Construction Act 2011
  • Transfer Tender Analysis / Contract Sum Breakdown into our Application Document
  • Prepare Cash-flow Forecast
  • Prepare Procurement Schedule in accordance with the Construction Programme. Update accordingly in accordance with business procedure
  • Draft Baseline Cost Value Reconciliation for agreement with your Senior Commercial Manager & Construction Director
  • Produce Cost Value Reconciliation for agreement with your Senior Commercial Manager or Managing Surveyor (as applicable) on a monthly basis
  • Review Sub-Contract tenders and issue Sub-Contract Analysis to Senior Commercial Manager for approval
  • Analysis Supplier tenders
  • Prepare Sub-Contract Orders
  • Prepare Supplier Orders
  • Contribute to monthly/fortnightly progress reports
  • Assist project management teams with commercial advice
  • Manage Sub-Contract/Supplier/Consultant Accounts through to Final Account
  • Prepare and issue Sub-Contract Payment Notices in accordance with the Main Contract & Construction Act 2011
  • Review, certify and sign off Sub-Contract/Supplier/Consultant payments in accordance with their contract payment dates
  • Review and instruct variation accordingly
  • Prepare and issue interim applications including advising on our estimated final account
  • Prepare Invoice Requests in accordance with Payment Certificates
  • Ensure all commercial information is filed in accordance with procedure
  • Manage and or assist with dispute resolution processes as required
  • Attend post tender interviews
  • Assist Pre contraction in tender preparation as necessary

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £50,000 to £65,000
