ABOUT THE ROLE

My client is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

You will be expected to:

  • Prepare and manage project budgets, cost plans, and estimates.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis on new projects.
  • Monitor and control project costs, ensuring they remain within budget.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors.
  • Perform cost analysis and draw up reports on changes to works and contracts.
  • Liaise with clients, architects, and engineers to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Manage and resolve any contractual issues or disputes.
  • Provide regular financial progress reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts, laws, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in using relevant software such as MS Excel, CostX, and other quantity surveying tools.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

REWARDS AND BENEFITS

Salary will be in the region of £45,000 – £60,000 subject to skill and experience. The company offers a fantastic working environment and will provide the opportunity to progress your career through excellent guidance, support and training.
