Our client is one of the UK’s leading specialist utility contractors turning over £100 million. Trusted to deliver a multitude of infrastructure projects involved in energy and telecommunications. The company is well known for its magnificent reputation in the construction industry. This reputation has enabled them to secure the main contractor status across several clients in the Electric Supply Infrastructure sector. Originating from London and Kent, the company wanted to expand the business to cover the UK. Establishing themselves in areas such as Southwest, the Midlands, the North, and Wales. Project values range from £500,000 to £5 million, displaying the business has adaptability across the board with its forward-thinking and innovative approach toward projects.

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing costs across multiple projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. The projects that you will be involved in will be working on NEC contracts on several different types of utilities such as water, power, fibre, telecoms, and multi utilities. On top of that, you will be working for a team with years full of experience within the utility sector. It makes it a great team to learn from and a team that will help you develop, the company has a great reputation for delivering projects to a high standard, so you can be sure to be gaining experience in the right way. The role itself gives you a great opportunity to grow and progress throughout the company whilst it allows you to take good responsibility for the work that you’re producing (i.e. you won’t be micro-managed).

Requirements 

I am looking for someone who has at least 5 years of experience working in the utility industry and someone who has good stability on their CV. The successful candidate will need to have had experience working on NEC contracts and someone capable of managing the full life cycle of a project, commercially.
