My client is a multi-disciplined, award-winning, tier one main contractor, turning over £500M + per annum. They are known worldwide and have been for nearly 150 years. The reason they are known worldwide is because of their technical capabilities and brilliant standard of work across the water industry (infrastructure & non-infrastructure), highways infrastructure, environmental projects as well as commercial construction. My client has several in-house capabilities such as design, delivery, and commercial management.

About the opportunity 

Due to the company winning a large Thames Water framework, they are now looking for a Project Manager to work on clean & wastewater infrastructure projects, as well as some MEICA projects. The role will involve taking large water infrastructure schemes from the pre-construction stage through to completion, your duties include, design management, promoting, enforcing, and adhering to the company’s Health & Safety Policies and Procedures as well as providing bid support at the tender stage. The successful candidate will be involved in creating and maintaining programmes of work, assisting and monitoring all commercial aspects of each project, and you will be the company representative at key client and stakeholder meetings. The projects you will be working on will range in value from £5M – £10M.

The successful candidate is in charge of ensuring projects are delivered on time and seeking to continuously improve operational performance.

Requirements 

Candidates must display long-term stability within their previous companies. Experience in working for UK based Civil Engineering contractor who works within the water industry is important to the success of this application. Having a good base education is essential. Possession of a Civil Engineering degree is necessary to progress on this application. I will be looking for someone who has experience working on NEC3 contracts and professionals with experience in water (mechanical & electrical), utilities, and infrastructure will thrive in this opportunity. The successful candidate needs to have experience working on P6 and Microsoft projects. This opportunity requires the successful candidate to be a team player and have excellent communication skills. The necessity to have a full UK driver’s license is essential. Allowing the successful candidate to commute from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require to visit.
