Helping to enhance careers

Project Manager – RC Frames & Groundworks – West London (x2)

  • £75,000 - £95,000 + Benefits + Bonuses
  • Specialist Sub Contract
  • London

Locations – Paddington & White City

About the Opportunity:

Would you like to join one of the top 10 concrete frame subcontractors in the UK, to gain access to the best projects that are completed in the right way? Would you like to be based on projects in West London, so your commute isn’t a killer? And would you like to join a business that will support you with the right team (directly employed, long term, top construction managers and projects engineers that work with you to get the right results)? Well these opportunities offer all of that!

I am looking for two Project Manager’s for sites already awarded in West London. Both of these Project Manager opportunities are to work for the same contractor. And as the Project Manager on either of these schemes you will be in charge of all of the works involved in the concrete frame & groundwork packages.

This business will reward you with targeted bonuses, so your effort and success are acknowledged that little bit more. They will develop you towards your future career goals (that’s right, contracts managers are promoted from within). So, these really are two great opportunities to join a fantastic business.

About the Company:

Current turnover is around £140 million per annum (impressive right). Project or package values range from £5 million up to £45 million each (so the big stuff as well as the normal). Head office is based South of the river but projects range from Hertfordshire down to the coast. Don’t panic though, people are allocated to projects based on their locations and West London is one of the busiest areas for this contractor.

On a personal note, I’ve developed a relationship with the MD and the Construction Director over the past 10+ years (not just at client meetings, but also over a few beers) and I would recommend both of them in a heartbeat. The MD is friendly and encourages all of his team to reach their goals whilst keeping a personal hand on the safety aspects of the business (he prides himself on the fact that they have maintained an excellent safety record for years, which means you get to go home in one piece). The construction director is both technically and commercially superb. And if you are selected for one of these positions, you’ll get to know the man that has built a strong and loyal team underneath him that are capable of delivering the amazing projects they do.

This business really is one of the biggest and definitely, one of the best!

About the Requirements:

Just like every business this contractor does look for a certain type of person. You’ll need to be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management. You’ll need to have operated at a Project Management level while working for a rival concrete frame or groundwork subcontractor in the UK. And you’ll need to be a team player that can plan, control and execute works to complete projects on time, in a safe way and to budget. So, all in all, you need to be a specialist that is confident, capable and committed. Sound like you?

About the Benefits:

The salary or day rate will equate to anywhere from £75,000 to £95,000 per annum, based on how much experience and proven capability you have against the criteria above. In addition, you can expect the added benefits of a car allowance, a company pension and the well thought out structured bonus I mentioned before. And this isn’t to be taken lightly, as over 80% of the project managers at this business are earning the higher amounts of these bonuses which could add an additional £5,000 to £10,000 to your annual earnings (nice)!

Outside of the package-based points I’d just like to add that these opportunities are with a business that retain their people. In the last 2 years I placed 9 senior construction professionals with this business and all of them have remained. That’s a stat that speaks for itself. And if I was looking to join a business, I’d want to make sure it was one of the ones who valued their staff, wouldn’t you?

How to Apply:

I am more than happy to discuss this opportunity with people over the phone or face to face in a fully confidential manner (you can get to know me while I get to know you). And I know this is an incestuous sector and I fully understand the importance of keeping things discrete.

Alternatively, it would be ideal to see a copy of your CV to understand your previous experience and employment. In line with GDPR, nothing will be done with your CV / details until we have discussed the role in detail anyway, but having gained an understanding of your formal past, this may help when we come to talk and discuss the option.
