Project Manager – Concrete Frame & Groundwork Subcontractor


About the opportunity

We have been asked to find specialist groundwork and concrete frame Project Managers capable of delivering packages ranging in value from £5 million up to £15 million each.

Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, basement construction and concrete frame construction, while working on both residential and commercial projects.

Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works and client meetings).

About the benefits and rewards

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £70,000 to £90,000 per annum however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a successful company (bonus scheme, pension, laptop, phone etc.).

About the company

This privately-owned client who is based just outside the M25 is a specialist groundworks and reinforced concrete frame contractor. This business has a strong health and safety culture and are accredited by a number of safety organisations. As a company that is always keen to work with clients in the early stages, this enables them to reduce costs and improve programmes through value engineering, including temporary works design, this is turn had led to a loyal client base giving them repeat business.

As a company they undertake a variety of works including groundworks, RC frames, structural steel work, basement waterproofing, temporary works, underpinning and structural alterations. Projects are undertaken throughout London and our client’s strong reputation for successfully completing complex projects has been built on delivery and trust.

About the Requirements

Suitable candidates will ideally be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and will be able to show a strong history from a site engineer level through to management over the last 5-10 years.

It is crucial that candidates can show a strong amount of concrete frame and groundwork construction background having worked for rival RC frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK and ideally experience of working in London and the South East. Candidates from a main contract or different subcontract background cannot be considered.

Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning / programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all of these tools.
