Project Manager – Concrete Frame & Groundwork Subcontractor

 

About the opportunity

We have been asked to find specialist groundwork and concrete frame Project Managers capable of delivering packages ranging in value from £5 million up to £15 million each. This particular project is a £7 million RC frame and groundworks package on a landmark scheme in Brighton. Other projects will follow upon successful delivery of these works. Individuals will need to have a strong understanding of everything from piling, groundworks, basement construction and concrete frame construction, while working on both residential and commercial projects.

Usual duties will apply from overall management of the site team, technical management of the programme and works, through to management of the client and surrounding aspects (i.e. health & safety, temporary works and client meetings).

For this permanent position, we are targeting candidates looking to earn anywhere from £350 to £450 per day however specific salary will be defined upon experience and suitability. Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered; travel allowance OR company vehicle in addition to standard benefits associated with a successful company (bonus scheme, pension, laptop, phone etc.).

This privately-owned client who is based just inside the M25 is a leading name within the construction industry. Their current annual turnover is in excess of £90M and with plans in place for growth over the next 5-10 years, this business is in an exciting position moving forward.

As a company they undertake a variety of works including reinforced concrete frames, groundworks, demolition, enabling works, structural alterations, soil remediation and stabilisation for clients which include Kier, Westfield, Bam Nuttall and ISG. Projects are undertaken throughout London and the home counties and our client’s strong reputation for successfully completing challenging projects on-plan has been built on delivery and trust.

About the Requirements

Suitable candidates will ideally be degree qualified in civil engineering or construction management and will be able to show a strong history from a site engineer level through to management over the last 5-10 years.

It is crucial that candidates can show a strong amount of concrete frame and groundwork construction background having worked for rival RC frame and groundwork subcontractors in the UK and ideally experience of working in London and the South East. Candidates from a main contract or different subcontract background cannot be considered.

Regarding software, our client uses the usual Microsoft programmes, standard email functions and Asta Power Project for planning / programming works. Project Managers will be required to use all of these tools.
