About the company

My client is a tier 2 main contractor who works predominantly in London, the South, and the South East, specialising in the rail industry. They are a multi-disciplined contractor with works ranging from track renewal and maintenance, planned and reactive maintenance, platform extensions, structures and depots infrastructure as well as facility management and Civil Engineering services within a rail environment. 

The company is currently turning over £75M with a target turnover of £85m by the end of 2020. The company ethos is extremely friendly and very teamwork orientated, they have plenty of social events and they work very closely with each other with continued support from Directors.

About the role

Due to the company continuing to expand they are looking for a Project Manager to look after a mixture of civils & premises projects, this will be on Network Rail & TFL projects. Responsibilities will include, the delivery of the project which will include platform extensions, station upgrades, track infrastructure, civil engineering works as well as planned, and reactive maintenance. The successful candidate will be involved in a full 360 Project Management role, this will cover design management, mainly of 3rd party design consultants, tendering, delivery of works, health and safety on-site, and staying on top of the commercial aspects of projects. The projects you will be involved in will range up to values in the region of £1.5M. This is also a client-facing role, you will be leasing daily with either Network Rail & TFL.

About the requirements

You will need to have a PTS as well as experience working on Network Rail projects.

Formal project management qualifications would be preferred.

A stable career working within a rail environment for either Main Contractors or tier 2 contractors (UK based), people who have only worked on the client side won’t be considered for this opportunity.

Proficient in MSProject or equivalent

NEBOSH National Certificate (General or Construction)
