About the Company:


My client is a privately-owned property development and construction company with significant assets & liquidity. Over 80 live projects and a clear cut, stable position in the market with a focus on new build hotels, super prime leisure refurbishments and large-scale new build residential. With assets in the region of £2bn, and further land acquisition underway all the time, the project portfolio for this group is substantial and ever growing. The construction arm of this business work as an in-house Construction Management team with the group’s interest at its core focus and their supply chain of approved principle contractors ready and waiting. The current team is made of senior level industry experts with backgrounds ranging from consultancies, developers and main contractors. This fast-moving core team are well supported at group level when required but are work autonomously on their projects.

About the opportunity:


This is an excellent opportunity for a well-established Project Manager who is based within a commutable distance of Heathrow to make a move into a business with substantial financial backing and a large order book of exciting projects. My clients has a number of upcoming projects including the demolition and rebuild of a huge hotel in Surrey, A £100m residential scheme in Greenwich and a £30m single residence to name a few. With all of these upcoming, they are looking for solid PMs with large project experience to join the business ready for when these projects go to site.


One of the projects we are recruiting for covers the demolition of a huge 70s office block which towers over a main line station, the refurbishment of the current station facilities and surrounding infrastructure, and new build of three large apartment blocks with design much more in keeping with the areas culture and planned redevelopment. This sizeable project is one long in the making, with plans having been circulated for some time and only recently being agreed.


As the project is such a large and community focused scheme, with key stake holders and interested parties embedded in the fabric of the area, a local and well experienced Project Manager is required to take this project from pre-construction and keep it as their baby all the way through to PC. The individual that is successful in being offered this position will have a thorough background of delivering large residential schemes with a stable career history and experience of working on Construction Management contracts.


About the benefits and rewards:


The salary will be dependant on level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £75,000 – £95,000. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare.


About the requirements:


Professionals must have extensive industry experience, directly relating to large scale residential or hotel projects, and must be commercially focused. They must be easily able to manage and motivate their team. They must show the contractual knowledge to identify risks and opportunities with clients and subcontractors and have the ability to programme the works and identify key interfaces, risks and opportunities in the construction process.


Experience of leading projects of the same type and scale is a must, along with a stable career history spent with good, well known companies.
