£60,000 + £5000 car allowance

About the company

My client is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering contractor turning over £80M + who specialises in highways maintenance, highways infrastructure, traffic management, rail, and the environmental sector. The company is huge on the long-term stability and career progression of their team. This is helped by the repeat business they get in Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and Hampshire which is a result of their high standard of work. They get a lot of repeat business with main contractors such as Kier & Balfour Beatty as well as dealing directly with Highways England and many local authorities. It is also helped by the close bond from the management team all the way down to the engineers.

About the opportunity

My client is looking for a Project Manager to help support the Contracts Manager and become his number 2, working on projects and contracts across Surrey, Kent & Sussex. You will be managing a team of Site Agents, Sub Agents, Foreman, and Engineers, helping them, developing them, and training them. Your role will involve taking projects from inception through to handover, this will involve working on bids, creating and managing programmes, design works, procurement, construction, and handover. The types of works you will be working on will be a mixture of highways maintenance and highways infrastructure, this will be on large highways schemes, council term maintenance contracts, and S278 works for developers.

Benefits and Rewards

You will be working for a growing company that has a strong belief in the development and progression of their current staff and they offer a training program to help you progress into the next stage of your career.

You’ll be rewarded with a very competitive salary of £60,000 + £5000 car allowance.

Requirements

I am looking for someone who comes from a Civil Engineering background and has worked on highways maintenance and or highways infrastructure schemes based in the UK. Someone who has managed projects from inception through to completion is also important.

Finally, it is important you have good stability on your CV, working for UK-based Civil Engineering contractors.
