About the opportunity:

My client is seeking a well experienced true Project Manager with a good level of fit-Out and refurbishment project experience to lead a variety of projects in and around London. They are seeking a new Project Manager with experience in this field to join their team and drive the current projects through from pre-con to completion. This opportunity will be as a site-based PM, reporting into a Project Director and Board Director.

In this opportunity, you will have ultimate responsibility for development and delivery of agreed project specification, programme and budget, in conjunction with the No.1 Site Manager, you will monitor and manage all works to ensure the quality of workmanship is of the highest standards at all times. You will have responsibility for all pricing, programming and contract negotiations as well as Design Management.

You will handle all negotiation of subcontract terms and conditions, ensuring all terms are back-to-back with the main contract and manage the project budget, control margin delivery and submit monthly valuations in conjunction with the Quantity Surveyor. You will need to manage, control and mitigate of all risk, both contractual and construction related. Controlling costs and pro-actively manage project profitability, you will maintain accurate and timely project documentation at all times.

As a Project Manager, you will lead and manage a highly organised, well-motivated and disciplined project team and manage and lead the relationship with the client and client project team to ensure all design information is provided in a timely and efficient manner.

Furthermore, you will have ultimate responsibility for all site Health and Safety, ensure all personnel on site are operating as a fully co-operative, focused team with one and assist Directors with business development, securing new project opportunities.

About the benefits and rewards:

The salary will be dependent on the level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary around £70,000 – £90,000. The package will also include various benefits relating to travel, pension and healthcare. This position will offer the opportunity for vertical progression within this growing organisation.

About the requirements:

Professionals must have extensive industry experience, specifically within a fit-out and refurbishment environment on JCT form of contact and must have worked in similar or higher positions in top tier or similarly set up main contractors. You must be easily able to manage and motivate your team. You must show the contractual knowledge to identify risks and opportunities with client and subcontractors and have the ability to programme the works and identify key interfaces, risks and opportunities in the construction process. The successful professional will be able to show length of service in only a handful of previous companies and will be able to show vision and drive to progress further within this business.

You must have a stable background with only a handful of employers and be degree qualified in Construction Management or Civil Engineering. You will need to have a hands-on approach with a can-do attitude and have experience in setting up and running similar projects. You are required to have Design Management experience and an understanding of funding and financing routes, experience of working in large organisations, proactive in learning with the ability to influence others, you must be a good communicator, able to interact with clients in a positive, engaging manner and a team player.
