This shared vision is embraced by their entire staff, who are encouraged to actively engage and contribute to the company’s culture. They understand the value of knowledge sharing within teams, facilitating continuous growth and development throughout the organization.

At its core, our client’s company is driven by passion, expertise, and a commitment to providing outstanding office solutions. Their dedication to creating exceptional workspaces is evident in every project they undertake.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The role requires a Project Manager with a strong background in managing large-scale refurbishment projects and the ability to quickly adapt and contribute from day one. As part of an established company team, the candidate must support the company’s growth ambitions and be proactive, reliable, and determined in their approach.

The position entails taking overall responsibility for project management on-site for successfully awarded projects. Each project will have a dedicated Project Manager, and the candidate will be assigned to a specific project until its completion. Depending on the project’s size, an Assistant Project Manager may also be assigned.

A crucial element of this role involves extensive travel, given its nature as a site-based Project Manager position. Approximately 70% of the job will involve residing near project sites as they are being completed. Our client’s primary objective is to place Project Managers at projects closest to their base location. However, certain project demands will necessitate weekday stays away from home to ensure efficient on-site supervision with all costs being covered by the company.

REQUIREMENTS

We are in search of a skilled and experienced Project Manager. The successful candidate will bring a minimum of 5 years of on-site project delivery experience in the property, building, or construction industry. They will demonstrate proficiency in designing and managing a programme of works, ensuring efficient project execution.

Communication skills are crucial for this role, as the Project Manager will be responsible for effectively interacting with various stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and building managers. They must possess the ability to read and interpret construction drawings accurately to facilitate smooth project coordination.

An understanding of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems is essential, as the Project Manager will oversee their integration within projects. Their expertise in managing office relocations, refurbishments, and fit outs, will contribute to successful project outcomes.

The Project Manager will work collaboratively within a team environment and exhibit excellent people management skills. They should be client-facing, driven, and able to establish and maintain positive relationships with all parties involved.

An in-depth knowledge of health and safety and risk management policies and procedures is essential to ensure compliance and maintain a safe working environment. The Project Manager should also possess a sound understanding of construction materials, processes, and equipment.

Strong organisational and time management abilities are critical, as the Project Manager will be responsible for programme design and management. They must effectively prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Contract and tendering experience, along with commercial acumen, is advantageous for this role. The Project Manager should have the ability to negotiate with multiple vendors and possess a solid understanding of legal requirements.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 is necessary, and familiarity with project planning software (e.g., ASTA) and Construction Management software (e.g., Procore) is advantageous.

Appropriate professional certifications, such as SMSTS, CDM Regulations 2015, NEBOSH – Construction, Asbestos Awareness, Fire Warden, and First Aid, are expected.

The successful candidate should hold a full and ideally clean driving license.

n addition to a competitive salary ranging from £65,000 to £70,000, my client offers a comprehensive range of perks and benefits that increase with time at the company. Starting from day one, employees enjoy 25 days of annual leave, including a Christmas shutdown period, and have the opportunity to leave early at 4:00 pm during August. The company also organises social events to create a strong team spirit.

After successfully completing the probation period, employees are entitled to up to 3 wellbeing days and 2 emergency pet leave days. They also receive leave for their child’s first day at school. To support their professional growth, individuals are provided with an individual training budget for further career development.

Upon reaching the one-year mark, employees gain the option to purchase additional annual leave of up to 5 days per year. As a token of appreciation, they receive a £50 gift voucher.

Finally, employees who have dedicated ten years to the company are rewarded with a one-month sabbatical or the equivalent paid as a bonus. The company further enhances their pension plan by increasing the contribution to 6%.

What our clients say

We have worked with Alex Wallace and the Cityscape Recruitment team for a number of years now and find their service excellent.

They supply well matched and vetted candidates and very quickly understood all our requirements. They have always demonstrated good market knowledge and an ability to deliver to our requirements.

Commercial Director,
Main Contractor

I have used Cityscape Recruitment multiple times over the last 5 years. Very pleasant to deal with and all candidates put forward for interview are well suited to the position and well vetted by the team, so there is no time wasted with unsuitable applicants. I would highly recommend Cityscape. I intend to use them again in the future should any vacancies become available.

Operations Director,
Platt and Reilly Ltd

The Cityscape Recruitment team has always been great to deal with. Always ready to listen to our needs and requirements, a quality some recruiters do not appreciate or have, then advising where they can assist in our staff procurement. We look forward to working with Laura and Cityscape in the coming years.

When you first contact us, be that through direct contact, responding to an advert or applying through our website, we will connect you with a consultant who works in your specialist area.

Initially, they will arrange a meeting to talk through your CV and career history. They will encourage you to go into detail about your background and experiences, capabilities and responsibilities, personal circumstances and any other factors they feel are relevant to help them build up a well-rounded profile of you.

We take extraordinary care in matching professionals to an opportunity – one that will help enhance their careers and a clients’ team. We therefore also use this meeting to empower you in your career. Using our extensive knowledge of the construction industry, we would provide in-depth overviews of businesses, projects and available roles, and guidance on where your strengths will add the most value and career potential.

After this meeting, the consultant will speak to a number of their clients about you and your CV. Who they speak to can be either jointly agreed upon or you can trust the judgement and expertise of the consultant to contact clients they feel are the best fit for your experience and goals.

If any clients are interested in meeting with you, the consultant will manage the interview process, coaching you before any interviews if required. (Further guidance can be found here.)

If you are successful in receiving an offer(s), our consultant will communicate this with you and help to negotiate the offer(s) and any other terms of employment.

Finally, we will support you in resigning from your current role, navigating potential counter offers and starting your new role.
