ABOUT THE COMPANY

Our client is a multi-disciplined, reputable sub-contractor who currently turnover £90m per annum. As a business, they specialise primarily within the water (wastewater and clean water) and infrastructure/non-infrastructure areas of civil engineering, with offices in North London, Kent, and on the South Coast. The company has some of the best employees in the industry working for them, they are very well respected across the utility industry and are currently in a period of steady growth.

Whilst the business is looking to expand, they are also keen to maintain their family feel atmosphere, offering an enjoyable working environment and everyone is treated as a name, not a number, with the respect from the directors across the company.

They are a relationship-based contractor and pride themselves on the quality of the work that they produce. This has led them to have repeat business with Thames Water, holding certain frameworks for over 30 years. On top of this, they have long-standing relationships with Affinity Water, Southern Water, and South East Water and have recently started working with Anglian Water.

As a business, they have transitioned into the Capital Delivery sector rather than Reactive Maintenance type works which were typically associated with this company. Their award on the LOT 2 Emergency Works Contract AMP7 supports this transition as well as being awarded and completing 40km of mains replacement (recent BCIA award) and securing a further package of 20km. This is in addition to some flagship projects to include and not limited to West Hyde Rising Main (TW Maple Lodge site), Store Road Rising Main, and Rye Meads.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Due to a healthy pipeline of work, my client is recruiting for a Project Manager to join the company. As a Project Manager, you will work on clean water infrastructure projects throughout London and the South East, working within their Capital Delivery department and will be responsible for managing water related construction projects from site set up to handover, safely delivering works within programme and budget and delivering to the clients specifications.

You will be working in a really good team – a team with a great technical understating of the utility industry, meaning you will be learning and developing your skill set in the long term.

REQUIREMENTS

You will need to have Project Management experience working on water infrastructure projects for a UK-based, self-delivering utility contractor. This experience should have covered delivering drainage and / or potable water projects. On top of this, my client is looking for a professional who is technically capable so a degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management is preferred along with a CSCS card and good stability of employment.

My client is one of the best utilities & Civil Engineering Contractors in the southeast. They have a low staff turnover and a great relationship with several key water clients such as Thames Water, Southern Water, Affinity Water, and South East Water, which means you will be offered long term stability.

You will be rewarded with a salary ranging between £60,000 – £75,000 per annum (specific salary will depend on previous experience). Furthermore, there will be a generous package offered including a car allowance, 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays), private healthcare, enrolment on to the group pension scheme and great career progression opportunities will be available.
