About the Company:

My client is a specialist Water and Civil Engineering contractor turning over £50M per annum and is now connected with 2 larger groups turning over £90M – £100M per company, per annum. This collaboration ensures clients are receiving excellent service as they’re able to innovate on the latest technologies and methods in the industry. Together, both companies specialise in many parts of Civil Engineering which are predominately water & utilities, such as clean & wastewater infrastructure, non-infrastructure, recalling, multi utilities, and reactive maintenance. They have secured a long-term contract for Southern Water’s sewage network, covering Sussex, Kent, Hampshire, and Isle of Wight.

About the role:

The successful candidate will need a can-do attitude to manage all phases of the project from pricing through to delivery on site, including the client relationship for each project, control scope, budget, direction, and supervision of direct operatives, subcontractors, and suppliers while developing and implementing site safety plans. You will need to be a motivated and dedicated individual, who will fit with the collaborative culture and become part of a close team. You will report to the Head of Planned Works and work on their Southern Water framework (covering areas in Kent, Sussex, and Hampshire) as well as projects for private clients, managing a portfolio of projects to deliver a commercially successful, safely executed, high-quality projects. This role is proposed to cover Kent and Sussex. This is a 6-month fixed term contract with the opportunity for it to extend.

You will need previous construction project management experience and strong commercial and contractual awareness. You must have 5 years of demonstratable experience in a project management role within a UK Civil Engineering contractor, working within the water industry. Qualifications are needed for Health, Safety, and Environmental Management (IOSH or Construction Managers Safety Certificate) and Relevant CSCS. You should have Utilities Wastewater network experience and a Degree in Civil Engineering/HNC/NVQ Level 6 Engineering/Construction Management.
