Helping to enhance careers

Pre-Construction Planner

  • £55,000 - £65,000
  • Civil Engineering
  • Kent

About the company

My client is a tier two contractor turning over £100m per annum, who is a large supplier that provides civil engineering services to almost two-thirds of the country. Projects are covered in Suffolk, Yorkshire, Cambridgeshire, Kent, Hampshire, and Oxfordshire, and is one of the largest family-owned Civil Engineering companies in the UK. Not only do they pride themselves in valuing customers and suppliers, but they have respect for the community and environment, making a conscious effort to minimise their impact on the environment and the communities in which they work. For over 50 years, core operations have included projects on highway and bridge construction, providing a range of infrastructure improvement services for the railway network, as well as river and marine services. They are looking for ambitious and driven individuals to progress and further their careers, as the company moves forward and grows.

About the role

Due to the company expanding there is now an opportunity to work for a growing pre-construction team as a planner. Due to the company winning lots of projects and having a very strong pipeline they are now looking for a planner to come on board to work for the pre-construction team and report to the senior planner. The successful candidate will be involved in planning activities to go in line with the tender and contract requirements, liaise with management and engineers to review the progress of construction projects, and address issues. The successful candidate will be expected to travel to and from construction sites to make sure you know what’s happening on all the projects that they’re involved with. Free lances won’t be considered for this role.

Benefits & Rewards

This is a brilliant opportunity should you be seeking to progress and develop your technical capabilities and to be part of an outgoing, enthusiastic team. You will be rewarded with a competitive salary ranging from £55,000-£65,000. My client is well respected within the Civil Engineering industry, taking pride in their friendly and approachable employees, as well as being able to “get the job done”. On top of this, they also offer flexible working, whether this is working from home or flexible working hours.

Requirements

You’ll be required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND, HNC) in a Construction, Civils, Business, or equivalent qualification. It’s important to have experience working within civil engineering as a planner and to show good long-term stability at the companies you have worked for (2-3 years per company you’ve worked for). You’ll also need a full UK driver’s license to allow you to get from the office to the construction site and to other locations you might require visiting.
