About the company 

My Client is a family run company based in North West London turning over £100M. they specialise in Infrastructures, such as highways, rail, and water. They also work within RC frames, groundworks and they also main contract on new build projects. My client prides themselves on the long-term stability of their staff due to the average employer working for them for over 15 years. This is because of the great atmosphere within the company and the really good family feel they have within the business. My client has been established for over 35 years and they keep growing and expanding year upon year, this is due to the great reputation they have in the market which has led to them getting continuous repeat business with clients such as Morgan Sindall, Volkerfitzpatrick, and Hochtief.

About the opportunity 

I’m currently looking for a motivated, technically gifted Civil Engineering professional to head of the Pre-Construction department whilst reporting to the Head of Estimating/Directors. You will manage all aspects of the operational tender inputs between program, technical, BIM, methodology, and resources to ensure one co-ordinated message. As well as that you will be reviewing tenders with the estimating team before confirming or declining. The types of works will be varied, within the infrastructure industry. Projects could be highways, roads, bridges, platform extensions, or roundabout construction. You will be the face of the business from pre – mid – post-tender including producing and delivering presentations as needed. The projects will range in value from £500,000 – £24M.

About the requirements 

I need someone who’s come from an Engineering background and has moved into a Pre-Construction role (5 years experience at least in a Pre-Construction position). It’s essential you have worked for a UK based Tier 2 contractor or a sub-contractor covering infrastructure projects (open to highways, roads, rail & Bridges). You will have to of shown good stability at the companies you have worked for, either 4 years per contractor at least. Experience working on NEC & JCT contracts is essential.

Qualifications: 

A degree (or equivalent) within Civil Engineering from a respected university or college,

It would be preferred that you are chartered (not essential though).

Benefits and Rewards

You will be rewarded with a great basic salary ranging from £80,000 – £95,000 (negotiable) + full package on top. On top of this, you will be working with a brilliant team with great knowledge and experience.
