East London

About the company

My client is part of an ever-growing group turning over in the region of £2B +. However, this part of the group is turning over circa £100M. They are specialist highways, groundworks, and Civil Engineering contractors with a superb reputation across London. They deal with a mixture of public and private clients such as councils, developers, and large government-funded projects. Despite my client being established for over 50 years, they have a fresh and growing commercial team with forward-thinking ideas, where they look to get the best out of everyone. Projects they work on range in value from £200,000 – £10M and this involves frameworks and schemes.

About the opportunity

This is a great opportunity for someone to have the opportunity of managing 2 separate, long-term frameworks. The frameworks are but running up until 2026 which can then be extended for a further 5 years, this gives you the opportunity to build some long-term stability in your career, and the opportunity to build a long-term team to work underneath you. The portfolio you will be managing will be within the region of £25M and this will involve dealing with local authority clients. Your duties will involve helping prepare the reporting on the project financial position, preparing project cash flow as well as being able to assist with the pricing of major variations and extra works. The forms of contracts you be working on will initially be NEC.

About the requirements

I am looking for someone who has progressed their way up to a Managing Quantity Surveyor within the highways industry or a Senior Quantity Surveyor who has managed a highways portfolio within the region of £15M – £30M. I am looking for someone who has held good stability throughout their CV and someone who has worked on highways/road projects in the UK, dealing with the local authority is preferred but not essential.

On top of this, you will be working with a great Commercial Director, someone who’s knowledgeable, someone with fresh and forward-thinking ideas, and someone who truly cares about his commercial team. Due to the timescale of the frameworks, you will be offered long-term stability and the opportunity to progress within the company.
