About the company

My client is a tier one main contractor who work worldwide, they are a leading name within infrastructure, utilities and rail turning over £1B. The company are 5 years into their 10-year growth plan, they are looking to turnover £2B by 2025, it’s very exciting times for the company. They specialise within rail, water, gas, power, highways and construction. Due to their high profile and high standard of work they are working on contracts such as HS2, United Utilities, Severn Trent Water, CP6 and Thames Water (AMP7).

About the opportunity

Due to some huge contracts being awarded to my client they are now looking for an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join their very experienced and senior team. The types of works you will be covered will be a mixture of utilities and Water works. The overall duration of this contract will be at least another 5 years, it is guaranteed long term work and stability for the right candidate. The contract is working on high volume, low cost work within the water industry covering all of Bristol.

The successful candidate will initially be heavily involved in Pre-Construction, NEC3 Administration and procurement with the long-term goal involving managing all commercial aspects for the projects (£75M per annum). On top of this you will be involved in managing a team of Senior Quantity Surveyors, Quantity Surveyors and Juniors.

When you move onto managing the projects commercially you be managing costs across multiple projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships.

The role is a permanent position. No freelancers will be considered.

About the requirements:

You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying.

To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or have 4 years’ experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within Civil Engineering for a Tier 1 contractor (UK based). Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years.

On top of good stability, I will be looking for someone with NEC3 contract administration and procurement experience.

The role is a permanent position. No freelancers can be considered.

A UK driving license is mandatory for this role.
