Led by their founders, they soon established themselves as a specialist main contractor in the structural refurbishment sector. With a clear structural bias, they oversaw the construction delivery and paved their way forward. They’ve worked on a number of London’s well-known landmarks, such as: The British Museum, Regents Street, The V&A, The British Library, Barbican, The Royal Albert Hall & Covent Garden Market.

Over the years they’ve successfully delivered schemes for Grosvenor, The Crown, Thomas’ School, Martins Properties, Howard De Walden, Dorrington, The Great Portland Estate & Capco. The delivery of these projects has nurtured their fit-out expertise and their projects have both been finalists & won awards for the Architect’s Journal & the New London Awards.

ABOUT THE ROLE

You will deliver the commercial management of complex refurbishment projects with contract values ranging from £5 – 20m. The relevant candidate should have a good technical understanding of structure and an eye for detail. The specialism is working on existing buildings. You will play an active role in the management of subcontractors which includes; overseeing the project delivery, with a collaborative approach to working with the site project delivery team.

REQUIREMENTS

They’re looking for an experienced quantity surveyor who will be working on projects ranging in complexity and project value. These projects will require navigating large numbers of sub-contractors / heritage elements / complex design requirements.

The candidate will have responsibility for:

  • Managing the commercial elements of the project delivery
  • Ensure that the project costs are tracked and managed
  • Oversee subcontractor orders, payments, variations & final accounts
  • Payment applications to the client’s PQ, ensuring payments and retentions are made fairly
  • Management of the contract (typically JCT)
  • Work closely with the wider management team
  • Produce monthly project CVRs
  • Report to the Commercial Director

They’re looking for a person who is able to work across multiple projects concurrently to suit the project’s needs. The following expertise are advantageous:

  • Strong structural knowledge
  • Experience working on existing buildings (heritage and listed)
  • Ability to price inhouse works
  • Experience in JCT projects
  • High energy & enthusiasm
  • Interest in technical knowledge
