About the Company:
My client is a privately owned business and renowned residential developer delivering high-quality homes in a range of formats including traditional build housing developments to apartment blocks, listed restorations & conversations and large-scale regeneration schemes. They have a broad area of operation with developments running in Cambridgeshire, Essex, Surrey, Hertfordshire, Kent and the outer London boroughs.

The business is forward-thinking and run a number of supporting business such as logistics, enabling them to maintain fully project control. They also have off-site production facilities allowing them to pre-manufacture and standardise many of their build components, enabling them to ensure quality and drive build programmes.

About the Role:

Our client is looking to bring on an experienced Managing Buyer from a new build residential background to head up the procurement function across the business. Managing a team of 4 within the procurement department and reporting back into the Commercial Director you will be expected to procure for all aspects of new build residential schemes, with an estimated output a year of 700 units across the South East region. This is an ideal opportunity to get involved in a well-established national developer that is currently implementing a strong growth plan over the coming years to increase output.

Given my client’s pipeline of work for the next 10-15 years there is certainly room for progression and the chance to take on more responsibility as the role develops.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Ideally at 2-5 years managing a procurement team
  • Must have new build residential experience
  • Must have worked for a Developer or Main Contractor
  • Knowledge of current pricing levels.
  • Sound knowledge of construction techniques, Building Standards, Environmental and disability standards.
