Land & New Business Manager

We are currently seeking a Land & New Business Manager on behalf of one of our main clients.

The company is an award winning family owned property development specialist with over 35 years’ experience focusing on high quality desirable homes in London & the South-East. This small – medium company is full of ‘people’s people’ with a friendly and welcoming sociable atmosphere where repeat business is at the center of their business. They offer a stress fee service to their clients and work on a partnership basis to ensure the end product is as desired. With 4 divisions within the group this role is for the development arm focusing on Affordable Housing; Housing Associations; Local Authorities building long term relationships with a £60m turnover. Their largest scheme has just been handed over which was a £22m scheme comprising 155 units.

 

Main duties:

  • Canvass letters and initiate approaches to landowners.
  • Monitor all planning application portals and follow up potential leads.
  • Alongside the Land Director (LD), appraise new development sites and work with the Group Commercial team in this process.
  • Utilise systems including BDL client database, Argus Developer, Landinsight, Molior and Land Registry.
  • Alongside the LD, progress offers for sites and agree Heads of Terms.
  • Alongside the Homes CEO and LD, undertake full site technical due diligence as part of the purchase phase.
  • Maintain relationships with internal Technical, Commercial and Delivery teams during the planning stages to ensure successful delivery and ‘buildability’ of the product.

New Homes:

  • Support the full sales & marketing process from inception through to PC, sale or rental of units.
  • Alongside the Homes CEO and LD, work with the appointed sales agent and conveyancing solicitor throughout the sales phase
  • Work with the Group’s Head of Marketing to assist in the branding and marketing phase (including digital media and online presence).
  • Monitor the new homes market for competitor units and sites, specification changes, pricing, market trends, mix typology, branding etc.

 

Professional development:

  • Maintain professional development by attending a range of legal, planning and development seminars, workshops and networking events. For example Housing Forum.
  • Ensure industry knowledge is up to date by reviewing Inside Housing on a weekly basis.
  • Other duties that may be required of a Land and New Business Manager.
