Our client who is based in Hertfordshire is an award-winning scaffold company with over 40 years of business in the industry. Although based in the South East they work on projects UK wide including Ireland and UAE. Their services include scaffolding, mast climbers, crane decks and design. They have a turn over of £5M with a very healthy pipeline.

About the Opportunity

Due to healthy order books and company expansion, there is a need for a junior estimator to join their commercial team and assist in running pre-construction and tender responsibilities. This position will enhance your career with their award-winning training and development. You will be working alongside the senior team who have a vast range of professional qualifications including health and safety (BSc, MSc, and MIIR SM). As the business evolves and moves forward it’s important that you move forward with them. Not only this as a scaffolding professional you will also have the opportunity to be a part of projects which are innovative and take you beyond what you have been involved in in the past. You’ll get to see a wide range of projects valuing from £150K to £3M. Due to the changing times, you will find the majority of project you work on will be bespoke which gives you an opportunity to work on high profile projects. This will give you a great opportunity to enhance your career with a broader knowledge of the piling industry and the projects you will be tendering for.

What’s great about this opportunity is the part you will play in the company. After discussing this role with the pre-construction director, our client is looking for someone who will join the business and bring fresh innovative ideas to the forefront.

As an Assistant Estimator, you will be responsible for attending pre and post tender meetings to understand the project. Also, schedule quantities as required. Furthermore, you are required to attend project visits; obtain quotations from potential suppliers.

About the rewards and benefits:

In return for your hard work and commitment, our client can offer an excellent remuneration package including a competitive basic salary ranging between £25,000 to £35,000 (dependent upon experience), car allowance, pension and private health care in addition to other benefits associated with a large successful company.

About the requirements: 

Ideally, you would have gained experience of estimating in construction and also scaffolding. Furthermore, as this is a permanent position, I am looking for candidates who can demonstrate the stability of employment throughout their career.
