About the company

My client is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering contractor, with its parent group turning over in circa of £1b. They work with both public and private sector customers in the specialist sectors of rail, highways and engineering. Their clients include HS2, Highways England and well-known residential and commercial developers. They deliver nationally but are organised regionally. As a company, they pride themselves on the technical capabilities of their staff, their high standard of work and the amount of repeat business they are rewarded. The specific Civil Engineering arm is turning over approximately £150M from work including Highways Infrastructure, Airport projects, 278 works, Landscaping and the occasional work on Rail Depots. The projects involve extensive concrete works, deep drainage and heavy earthworks and they range in value from £1m – £150M. They have offices based in the Midlands, Peterborough, Kent, Surrey and Hertfordshire and are very sociable- always hosting a summer party and a Christmas party, giving you the opportunity to interact with other teams on a personal level, staff morale is exceptionally high and a prime focus for the business.

About the Role:

Due to company expansion, my client is recruiting permanently for a Bid Coordinator/Junior Bid Manager to be based from their Hertfordshire office, who will play a key role in supporting the pre-construction team by leading bid production and delivering compelling and consistent publications in line with bid management procedures. As well as Coordinating the Bids they would like somebody who can bring good energy to the team and start managing some of their smaller bids which will be valued between £1M-£4M. All of the projects that you will be working on will involve Civil Engineering works E.G Highways Infrastructure, Airport Infrastructure and Railway Station depots. The successful candidate will also be involved in the marketing side.

The role will be within the preconstruction team and will require the following;

  • Reviewing tender information.
  • Producing method statements, plans of work, sequence sketches.
  • Producing programmes (Training will be provided)
  • Producing mid bid and post bid presentations

About the benefits / rewards:

The salary will be dependant on level of exposure to industry and experience on related projects. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary of around £35,000-£45,000 depending on experience. The package may also include various benefits relating to travel and healthcare. Suitable candidates will have a proven track record of working within the UK civil engineering industry. As well as exposure to Civil Engineering it is vital that you are energetic, career motivated and hard working.
