Based in the South East of England our client is one of the markets leading residential developers who design, build and sell large, complex residential-led developments tailored to the needs of customers and stakeholders, as well as the local communities. Through working with respected planners and designers, they have gained experience in developing high quality homes across London and the surrounding areas.

 

About the opportunity:

This opportunity is to work on one of the largest residential schemes in the U.K with over 20 years’ worth of work in the pipeline providing over 3000 new homes. To succeed in this role, you will be expected to carry out the following roles and responsibilities with a comfortable level of autonomy: Work closely with the Senior H&S Manager / Director to coordinate the health, safety, & environmental process for the company, ensuring all relevant areas of the business achieve minimum agreed levels of compliance. Ensure all accidents are fully investigated then reported to the Health and Safety Executive correctly in consultation with Senior Company SQE Management. Monitor compliance with the company’s H&S policy, organisation and arrangements. Hold regular meetings with senior managers to discuss improvements to safety procedures. Provide advice and guidance on health and safety matters.

 

Maintain up to date knowledge of new or revised legislation and other practical aspects of SQE management. Maintain an up to date knowledge of legislation and codes of practice applicable to the company’s business. Review all Risk Assessments and High-Risk activities, ensuring adequate control measures are in place. Identify training needs in the area of health and safety. Conduct and arrange any external H&S training in conjunction with business requirements. Carry out health and safety audits on site. Promote via the management team, supervisors and HR, the requirement for employees to be informed of their responsibilities and receive adequate training in safety, quality and environmental matters. Review Accident Investigation forms to ensure remedial action and control measures undertaken.

 

About the benefits and rewards:

The salary offered always depends on the level of experience of the candidate and their exposure to the relevant industry sector.  In this instance they are ideally looking to pay up to £40,000 basic salary plus a benefits package.

 

About the requirements:

To be considered for this position, it is imperative that individuals have previous experience in the construction industry (Within this sector is preferred). For this opportunity our client is targeting highly experienced professionals that have held previous roles with rival contractors. A NEBOSH General Certificate and an IOSH qualification are essential for this position.
