Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Advisor – Highways

Civil Engineering

£35,000 – £45,000 + package

About the company

My client is a multi-disciplined Civil Engineering contractor turning over £80M + who specialises in highways maintenance, highways infrastructure, traffic management, rail, and the environmental sector. The company is huge on the long-term stability and career progression of their team. This is helped by the repeat business they get in Surrey, Sussex, Kent, and Hampshire which is a result of their high standard of work. They get a lot of repeat business with main contractors such as Kier & Balfour Beatty as well as dealing directly with Highways England and many local authorities. It is also helped by the close bond from the management team down to the engineers.

About the opportunity

This opportunity has come about due to company expansion and a healthy pipeline of works. My client is looking for a Health & Safety Advisor to work on highways projects, these projects could vary in types of works from Civil Engineering, infrastructure, maintenance, and roadworks. The duties you will be carrying out will involve representing the company and dealing with the client in all SHEQ matters when required. You will be conducting investigations and reporting your findings as well as monitoring and ensuring all company compliances are in line with the internal management systems.

About the benefits and rewards

You will be working for a contractor with a brilliant background in the highways and civil engineering industry, a contractor who looks after and take care of their staff and because of this have a low staff turnover. They have a large pipeline of work that can offer you long-term stability and on top of this, you get a competitive salary ranging from £35,000 – £45,000 + a full package on top.

I am looking for someone with at least 3 years of experience working in Construction or Civil Engineering as a health & Safety Advisor or Manager (highways would be preferred but not essential). It is, however, essential you have a NEBOSH in Construction and ideally an IOSH also.
